Jay has worked in retail management and also is a certified Investment Consultant; he loves being with people. He plays frequently at Christ the King Church on Sundays where he leads the band with acoustic guitar and vocals. Jay is also currently recording for his 2010 debut album Behind Closed Doors. Mark immigrated to the USA during summer 2007 to marry his American fiancee and they now live in Dover, NH. Mark and his wife, Phoebe, are committed Christians and actively attend [Harbor Christian Church], in Portsmouth (HarborChurch.us). Mark has performed with many artists, including Damian Keyes, Alanis Morissette, Eric Clapton.Jason Knight, David Fellingham, The Alethian Orchestra, Alan Rose, Stuart Townsend, Matt Redman. Mark Edwards, and Carleen Anderson. He currently teaches at two local music schools - Musicalarts in Exeter, NH and Musicmakers in North Hampton, NH. He also teaches from his home in Dover, NH. In addition, he gigs frequently with Hampton, NH based rock band Wicked Automatic and originals artist (Jason Brown). Mark teaches with enthusiasm, expertise and patience. As a graduate of one of the UK's top music schools, The Brighton Institute of Modern Music. He is able to relate equally well to beginners and seasoned players tailoring his approach to their individual needs. He teaches from the acclaimed UK-based 'Drumsense' syllabus and places a high value on the importance of teaching lessons that are thought-provoking, inspiring and challenging. After graduating from Nazareth College, Kathryn received piano teacher training in a traditional piano method from a Helen Thompson-affiliated studio. After reading about the music-learning philosophy of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, and witnessing the musical ability of Suzuki students, she decided to receive Suzuki Piano teacher training. She was mentored by individuals such as Roberta Honadle and Dr. Karen Hagberg (a former student of Dr. Suzuki and Dr. Haruko Kataoka). Growing further into adulthood, Kathryn's vocal interests also broadened. After attending a Hindustani (North Indian Classical) vocal concert, she became enthralled with this music and vocal style. With a twist of fate, she soon found herself studying Hindustani vocals with Sangeetha (Dalugama) Michael, of Viswa Bharati University, (Bolpur, India) - the internationally renowned university established by the composer, poet, and Nobel Laureate, Rabindranath Tagore. Kathryn continued her Hindustani vocal training under the world-renowned Indian Classical musician, Ustad Irshad Khan. Kathryn now lives and teaches in the seacoast region of New Hampshire. She attends St. Thomas More Church in Durham, where she plays piano and/or sings for Masses and other services. Irving Gadoury
After deciding to pursue music as a career, Irving moved to the NH seacoast area. While there, he immersed himself in as much music as possible. In the two years he spent in the Portsmouth area, Irving performed in four different choirs, three stage productions and, a community ensemble. During the same time, Irving also studied jazz with Brian Richardson and Jim Dozet, and even aced five music classes. Today, Irving continues to take his studies in music to another level at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. There, he is a Music major with a concentration in Sound Recording Technology and has made the Dean's list in his first semester by getting no worse than an A- in 19 of 20 credits, notching a 3.675 GPA. Jay Lawrence is the owner and chief instructor of Noteworthy Music. As a child he never had a chance to explore music in a way that met his passion for it. That passion for singing and songwriting carried him into the UNH Music program having only two guitar chords and a pen. There he had an opportunity to create his own music degree that current students at UNH now have the opportunity to explore.
Mark Davenport is 24 years of age and is an accomplished drummer as well as an experienced teacher.
Kathryn Majumdar is a classically trained pianist and vocalist. She has extensive experience teaching students ages 3-adult, and does so in a creative way. She began piano studies at age 8 and vocal studies at age 13. She was a yearly participant in the National Piano Guild Auditions. As a child composer, her piano/ vocal composition "A Rose in December" earned national merit. Kathryn continued her music studies at Nazareth College of Rochester, studying piano with Dr. Beverly Smoker and voice with Dr. Todd Graber.
Irving Gadoury is a knowledgeable guitar instructor from Lowell MA. While growing up in Pittsfield, NH Irving learned guitar first from his father, then jazz guitarist Phil Sargent. During high school, he spent most of his free time volunteering for numerous non-profit organizations including the Pittsfield Youth Workshop, NH Teen Institute, and the American Cancer Society as well as teaching private lessons.
