Guitar Lessons...At Your Door

Guitar lessons for electric and acoustic guitar center around the student's passion enthusiasm for learning about the instrument; we want you to play and learn about the music you love. The student will select a song or style of music they wish to play during the first three lessons and the instructor will utilize that desire to teach/reinforce the following fundamentals of the guitar:

• Parts of the guitar
• How the guitar works
• Holding the guitar
• Tuning
• Basic care
• Finger positions
• Fretting / Scales
• Open chords
• Basic reading of music notation
• Reading chord charts and tablature

Players will then move forward to other techniques more applicable to the style of music they wish to explore. The area of study will be dictated by the student's desire to learn as they utilize the instructor for guidance. Some common areas of exploration for the guitar include, but are not limited to:

• Multi positional barre chords
• Soloing
• Strumming / fingerpicking techniques
• Chord extensions
• Advanced rhythm study
• Advanced harmony study
• Songwriting and song structure
• Modal studies
• Music theory - College Preparation
• Ear training - College Preparation
